This highly detailed design is attributed to, or inspired by, late 19th-century French sculptors, most notably \u003cspan class=\"rQesXe MPyX\"\u003eBeroude\u003c\/span\u003e (who actively sculpted popular devotional religious items during this era).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile it mimics a heavy bronze finish due to its dark, aged patina, these classical French devotional pieces were typically cast in \u003cspan class=\"rQesXe MPyX\"\u003espelter\u003c\/span\u003e (a zinc-based alloy popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries) or pewter, then patinated or bronze-coated.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is in antique condition. There is a mounting hole on the bottom to indicate where it was attached to a possible wooden base. The base has a crack, but the piece still stands and is a beautiful decorative antique bust of Jesus.
