Beautiful antique scapular from France. This is a STUNNING piece. It was made with a soft cloth in blue and black with a black ribbon connecting the two pieces. There is also a medal attached to this. This "Quis ut Deus" scapular is a Latin phrase meaning "Who {is} like God"?, serving as the literal translation of the Hebrew name Michael. It is a rhetorical, defying question associated with Saint Michael the Archangel, asserting that no one compares to God, often depicted on his shield as a rebuke to Satan's pride.

Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.

Please note that this piece is not new. This is an antique, so wear is commensurate with age.
