Beautiful Antique French ebony rosary. It is a stunning piece with hand carved ebony beads. The black rosary bead symbolizes grounding and protection. When black beads are used in combination with prayer (including the rosary) it calls for the feelings of self-control and resilience. Although considered to many to be a formal or elegant color it is used in a variety of rosaries from elaborate to simple. Please note that this is not a new piece. It is an old piece sold as found. I did not clean it so there is wear commensurate with age.
