Dating from the late 19th century (Napoleon III / Louis XV Revival era), this high-quality cast bronze or brass mount features a strikingly detailed central Satyr / horned Ram head motif. Elegant, asymmetrical Rococo C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and delicate floral openwork branch out from the central figure.
Designed specifically as a corner chute (chute de commode), this architectural salvage piece is meant to hug the curved upper shoulders or cabriole legs of fine casework furniture, clocks, or decorative boxes. The mount features integrated discrete mounting tabs for easy pin or screw installation. A deep, rich, authentic aged patina beautifully accentuates the high-relief casting.
These are in excellent antique condition with a gorgeous naturally aged patina and intact mounting points. We have two with the ram's head on the right and two with the ram's head on the left. Each one measures 4" x 2.5".
