This is a lovely antique French porcelain holy water font (also known as a wall stoup or bénitier), dating to the 19th-century Napoleon III era (circa 1860–1880).
It features a central relief figure of the Blessed Virgin Mary depicted with her hands crossed over her chest, styled after Parisian porcelain or Vieux Paris (Old Paris) porcelain traditions.
It is molded white porcelain featuring hand-painted facial details and extensive gold gilt accents highlighting the Rococo-style scrollwork, floral motifs, and borders. It is a small, wall-mounted religious piece designed to hold holy water at home for private prayer and devotion.
This lovely piece measures 8" x 3.5" and is in mint condition.
