Antique French ormolu brass flower furniture fittings (also known as rosaces or appliqués), dating back to the early 1900s. These decorative fittings were traditionally attached flat to wooden furniture, such as wardrobes, bookcases, and cabinets, to add a touch of gilded elegance. The tiny holes visible around the perimeter are designed to accommodate small tacks or escutcheon pins, securing each piece flush against the wood surface. Gilded brass or bronze (historically referred to as French ormolu) develops a beautiful, rich, lasting gold patina over time. These pieces measure 1/4" in diameter and are in excellent condition.
