Beautiful antique French miniature portrait oil painting by way of France. The painting is in the original gilt frame, complete with glass, which shows no signs of damage. Around the oval glass covering the portrait is an additional brass/gilt frame. Between the inner frame and the outer frame, there is green silk. The back is covered in pale orange silk with paper. There is a triangle-shaped hanger on the back as well. The overall dimensions are 3.5" x 4" x .45". The inner portrait is 1.5" x 2". The Painting is in excellent condition. I can't be sure, but I would say this is from the mid-1800s.
