This is an antique French religious wall plaque or medallion featuring Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, set inside an ornate Art Nouveau-style brass frame from around the 1920s or 1930s.
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux (known as "The Little Flower"), depicted holding roses against a cross.
The central medallion depicts Saint Thérèse dressed in her traditional Carmelite habit, holding a crucifix surrounded by her signature cascading roses. This visual references her famous promise, "After my death, I will let fall a shower of roses," which symbolizes the blessings she would obtain for people on Earth. Made in France in the early 20th century, this piece features a round metal center relief mounted in a decorative floral gilt or brass frame with a top loop for hanging. This piece measures 1.75" x 2.25" and originally had an easel stand on the back. That has been replaced with old wire, so now it can hang or lean.
