Beautiful vintage/antique French Catholic pilgrimage souvenir napkin ring (rond de serviette) dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1920s–1950s). This highly collectible piece originates from the famous Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France.
The front features an ornate circular repoussé medallion depicting the Apparition at the Grotto of Massabielle. It beautifully depicts the standing figure of the Virgin Mary within the rocky cavern, with Saint Bernadette Soubirous kneeling in prayer at her feet. The piece features a lovely aged patina with natural oxidation that highlights the depth of the metalwork.
While originally manufactured as a traditional French dining napkin ring, its bottomless cylindrical shape makes it an excellent candidate to repurpose as a unique, vintage candle sleeve or collar for a small LED flameless candle, tea light glass, or taper holder.
This lovely piece is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Features beautiful, authentic tarnishing and patina. No major dents or structural warping.
