Rare antique French hand-carved wooden letter opener. This beautiful piece is from the 1800s. It is a hand-carved piece representing King Louis XII. There is a carving on the front that reads Louis XII. Louis XII (1462-1515) was King of France and Naples who ruled from 1498 to 1515. He was known for his Italian wars, his marriage to Anne of Brittany, and his reforms of tax and law. This letter opener measures 9.25" x 1.6" x .40".
