Beautiful antique French grain sack made from durable hemp. Woven from heavy, rustic antique hemp, it is historically prized for its extreme durability and dense texture. It showcases traditional woven vertical "ticking" or property stripes running down both sides. Farmers dyed specific stripe patterns into their sacks to easily identify their own grain at the communal milling mill. This one is stamped with the name "PUJOLET," which likely indicates the original owner or farm. These textiles were historically hand-woven and are now frequently repurposed for rustic farmhouse decor, such as table runners or pillows. This sack has already been opened and measures 41" wide and 55" long. It is a strong woven piece.
