Beautiful large 7" antique French frozen Charlotte Make-Do doll with a painted head. This doll was purchased in France but the Frozen Charlotte parts are from Germany. This was an original single porcelain doll that broke. At that point someone made a doll using the body parts and fabric scraps. I did not undress the doll to see what the body was made of but it feels heavy so I am guessing fabric scraps. Frozen Charlotte's are porcelain dolls from Germany dating around the 1860's and this is just a perfect piece of history.
