An unusual and beautiful early 19th-century French embroidered panel with a hand-painted vignette. The panel is decorated with silk embroidery, featuring champagne silk stitches. The vignette is hand-painted on what feels like soft, leather-like material. The leaves, flowers, and foliage have added silk stitches. The outer acanthus leaf border is in silk cord and embroidery. The panel measures 21.6" x 25.6" and is in lovely condition.
