Stunning antique French statue depicting Diana/Artemis sleeping in the grass with her bow and arrows and dog nearby. This is a very detailed piece of work from the mid-1800s we found in Provence, France. The goddess most commonly associated with arrows and dogs in Roman mythology is Diana, the Olympian goddess of the hunt, dogs, wilderness, wild animals, the moon, and archery. She is often depicted with a bow and arrows, accompanied by hunting dogs, stags, or other wild animals. Her Greek counterpart is Artemis. This piece is 4" long, 3" wide, and 1.80" tall. It is in excellent to mint condition.
