Beautiful antique French Catholic devotional ribbon badge typically associated with a Marian sodality, congregation, or the French Women's League (Ligue des Femmes Françaises), dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900s–1930s). These medals are frequently found in aluminum or silvered brass. The cream grosgrain ribbon features gold embroidery reading "JHESUS MARIA". This specific archaic spelling ("Jhesus") and pairing were famously used on the battle banner and rings of Saint Joan of Arc.  The text flanks an embroidered upright sword topped with a royal crown. In French Catholic tradition, this represents the coat of arms granted to Joan of Arc's family, serving as a symbol of militant faith, defense of the church, and devotion. The round silvered pendant at the bottom is a classic Art Nouveau-style Marian medal. It bears the Latin phrase "MARIA IMMAC." (Maria Immaculata), honoring the Immaculate Conception. It depicts the Virgin Mary in profile, facing right, draped in a traditional veil. The reverse side features the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
