This vintage French "Pastilles Lotus" lozenges tin features a distinctive lithographed graphic. Produced in France and dates from the early 20th century (circa 1900s–1930s). It was a popular lozenge produced by Ets La Spécialité, located in Rochefort-sur-Mer, France.
The central illustration features a woman styled as a traditional Japanese geisha, which reflects the popularity of Orientalism and Japanese-inspired aesthetics (Japonisme) in French decorative arts and advertising during the early-to-mid 20th century.
