This vintage French "Pastilles Lotus" lozenges tin features a distinctive lithographed graphic.  Produced in France and dates from the early 20th century (circa 1900s–1930s).  It was a popular lozenge produced by Ets La Spécialité, located in Rochefort-sur-Mer, France.

The central illustration features a woman styled as a traditional Japanese geisha, which reflects the popularity of Orientalism and Japanese-inspired aesthetics (Japonisme) in French decorative arts and advertising during the early-to-mid 20th century. These lithographed metal tins typically date from the 1910s to the 1930s and are highly sought after by collectors of vintage advertising and pharmacy ephemera. The tin measures 2.95" in diameter and is a wonderful collector's piece.
