The sweetest petite antique French gilt metal ring box from the late 1800s. This darling box is decorated with repousse tumbling cherubs stringing together rose garlands on each side. The lid has a cartouche tied with a ribbon. It was probably for an engraved monogram. The inside is lined with pale blue silk. The lid is hinged on the back, and it is strong. There is an acanthus leaf slip hinge on the front that works perfectly. There is a very small hole on the back, but that does not detract from this beautiful piece. It measures 1.8" x 1.8" x 1.5".
