This is a late 19th-century French metal award branch decorated with detailed laurel and oak leaves. These metallic branch arrangements were typically produced in France in the late 1800s as commemorative awards, architectural accents, symbolic tokens, or awards for academic or sporting endeavors. This piece is inscribed along the outer edges of the bow and has a wonderful Patina. It measures 8.25" long and 4.25" wide. The original round hanger is still intact on the back and ready to be hung.
