Wonderful 1812 Papier Dominote book in green with burgundy and cream dots. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, the patterns having been printed using a woodblock with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In France, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIII th century. the patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is 211 years old and is in superb condition. It measures approximately 5” x 7” with about 126 pages. It is in fantastic condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from France. This is not a reproduction.
