Wonderful 1804 "LE MAGASIN DES ENFANS" Papier Dominote book in Blue checks.
'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, the patterns having been printed using a woodblock with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In France, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIII th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is 219 years old. It measures approximately 4.25” x 6.75” with about 198 pages. It is in wonderful condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from France. This is not a reproduction.
