Beautiful antique French 1800's framed bridal crown. A stunning piece I actually thought about removing it from the frame and mounting under a glass dome. The crown is in nearly MINT condition as is the frame. However the crown has dropped on the right side as it become loose from the string that held it in place. You can see from the picture that there is a label under the crown. Another reason I thought about removing it. I haven't repaired it and I know it is an easy fix to re-attach it. The lining of the frame is red fabric and it might be silk. Around the back of the frame are silver and gold embossed floral pieces which were probably part of the wedding in some manner or fashion. The frame is black with gold trim on the inner and outer edge. The box frame is 15" high x 10.5" wide and about 3.9" deep. There is a hook at the top for hanging. A stunning piece for sure.
The glass is is not clouded in any way. There is however a glare on our pictures.
Found in Barentin, Upper Normandy, France.
