Antique French hand-carved child's Etui egg. This is a carved bovine outer egg that, at one time, contained many inner pieces for an etui box. The insides are long gone, but the egg remains. There are a few fracture lines on both parts, and one bent and one missing piece are visible in the pictures. The egg halves still connect, and I have not attempted to clean or repair any part of the piece. It measures 3" in length and 1.75" in diameter. This is a very old piece from the mid-1800s that we found in Normandy, France. With a little help, it could be brought back to life with some tender loving care. The last picture shows what this might have looked like at one time and could be once again.
