Antique French doube sided painting. Probably one of my "Top 10" pieces becuase I just love something about the wear on this one. Someone had to have loved the piece so much that they reused it. This is an antique oil on canvas tacked to a frame. The canvas and the frame are both probably early 1800's. the canvas is coming off the frame in several places as can be seen in the pictures. I have done no repairs to this piece at all. The canvas side is a bowl of fruit. On the back side of frame is another oil on paper that has been adhered to the back of the original canvas. This one is a vase of flowers. I love this piece because I can fli it around so I have multiple pieces of art. It appears that the oil on heavy paper has been adhered in the center of the canvas to hold it in place. I have made no attempt to remove the heavy paper nor will I as I do not want to rsk damaging the piece. Th piece measures 13" x 10" or 10" x 13" depending on which side is being viewed.
