Wonderful 1844 intaglio roller-papered book. Using continuous intaglio roller patterns enabled mid-19th-century publishers to decorate books efficiently. The uniform, crisp lines provided a premium, neat aesthetic that simulated much more expensive woven striped cloth or marbled materials, all while keeping the book affordable for the public. This antique book is almost 180 years old and is in superb condition. The fact that the cover paper has remained flat and smooth indicates it hasn't experienced severe humidity or warping over the last 180+ years. It measures approximately 6” x 3.65”. The spine is great, and the bindings are intact. It is in fantastic condition given its age, and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original book. This is not a reproduction.
