Wonderful 1814 & 1820 antique French deckled Edge purple Candy Cane Striped Paste Paper books. You are purchasing ONE book per purchase. The "Code Civil" book measures 7" x 4.5" x 2" and has 526 pages. The "Eloge Historique" book measure3 8.5" x 6" x 1.75" and has 316 pages. Paste papers are one of the earliest methods used to decorate paper. I haven’t made any in a long while and now I feel the urge to start again after seeing these colors. OMG are these deckled edge books just FABULOUS or what! These are getting harder and harder to find and purple is a rare color. These are originals from France. These are not reproductions. Keep each one as it is if you are a collector or take it apart for decoupage, altered art, mixed media and so much more. I have also use these books for wallpaper. One book can be used for so much.
