Absolutely amazing 1800's French wood fragment. This was originally part of an ornate boiseries paneling either in a wealthy home or chateau. This is a handcarved piece with two birds kissing. The back sides show the carving marks right behind the birds as well as one wooden peg and a peg hole where the birds were attached to something much larger. This is a beautiful antique fragment from the 1800's carved from a single piece of wood. It measures approximately 9" x 5" x 1.25". Just a stunning piece to hang on a wall or sit on a shelf. Pieces like this are getting harder and harder to find.
