A very pretty antique French wedding crown or hairpiece. This is a handmade piece with a strand of wire wrapped in silk, featuring florals throughout. The front has a lovely floral arrangement of silk flowers, leaves, and waxed apple blossoms. The side and back are also handmade wax apple blossom buds. The right side of the crown has a loop where the ends come together to lengthen or shorten the diameter of the crown. The entire piece is composed of pale silk florals and cream apple-blossom buds. This is a darling handcrafted decorative piece from the 1800s. A timeless treasure and a fabulous display item that can still be used. The crown can be worn open or closed by connecting the wired ends to each other. As it sits closed, it measures approximately 6" in diameter, but remember it can be opened up and easily held in place with a bobby pin. This is a one of a kind and truly a fabulous piece of history.
This is an antique, approximately 150 years old. There is wear commensurate with age.
