A beautiful antique French red velvet marriage display cushion from a globe de mariee, probably from the mid to late 1800s
This wonderful traditional French marriage souvenir would have been part of the interior of a globe de mariee, made from all bright red velvet, which is beautifully time-worn. Red velvet cushion with little gold flower studs to create the padding effect. This cushion is missing the legs and the top, but the cushion's gilded toleware medal border is still attached. It is in used condition, with normal wear for age, with balding to the red velvet throughout, and some rubbing. This beautiful display piece would also make a fantastic wedding gift. It measures approximately 4.5" x 7.5".
