A charming antique 1800s French miniature portrait in a beveled wood frame. The square frame has a classic beveled depression with a brass insert and glass that protects the image. The subject is a young woman in a beautiful periwinkle ruffled dress and bonnet. This is a signed piece, and it appears to be signed with a single initial "S".
This portrait is in overall very good condition for its age of 125 plus years. The brass has tarnished slightly and shows some mild patina. The back of the frame is partially papered, and the original loop hanger is intact and attached. The wooden frame measures 4.5" x 4.5" and the portrait of a young woman is approximately 2.35" in diameter.
