This is a charming antique 1800s French timeworn chocolaterie box. It has a beautiful diorama on the lid. There are velvet-trimmed leaves with tiny stars: a gilt metal clasp and a gold wire braid. The darling box sits on four round porcelain ball feet. On the bottom is a sepia ink handwritten inscription dated 1861, a telltale sign of its age. The box measures 7" x 7" x 2". This would be a gorgeous boudoir trinket box. You could keep your favorite jewels safe in French classic chic style and carefully hold your sweetest treasures.
All strong.
