Wonderful antique French textile box dating to the early layer 1800s. This antique box is rectangular and originally used to hold gloves. The boudoir box is made from heavy cardboard and covered with a lovely antique textile. On the central area of the lid, there is a chromo in sepia color featuring a mother with her children and possibly a household maid. The chromo and lid are edged with bronze color metallic trims. The box has a beautiful antique patina and colors. The fabric is a woven pattern of pink and red roses. The interior of the box is lined with the same cloth. This antique French fabric box is perfect for holding so many things. The box structure is sturdy and the lid is intact and in place. While the exterior fabric is slightly faded due to its age the interior maintains the original bright colors. The interior is also in good order. The exterior of the box has imperfections or a patina due to its age which is expected as it is 125 - 150 years old but other than fading it is in what I would call mint condition. The boudoir box measures approximately 12.75" long x 4.75" wide and 2.5" tall.
