Beautiful antique partial 1700s scapular from France. This is a STUNNING piece. It was made with brown cloth, gold metal-thread trim, and blue silk ribbons. This is a very old piece, careworn from age and use, but it is absolutely beautiful. Half is missing, but the beautiful blue ribbon remained. The scapular is all hand-stitched.
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that this piece is not new. This is an antique over 225 years old, so wear is commensurate with age.
