Wonderful 1853 Papier Dominote book. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, with patterns printed using a woodblock and color applied with a paintbrush or stencil. In France and Italy, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the 18th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is almost 175 years old and is in superb condition. It measures approximately 6” x 3.65” and contains several engravings. The spine is great, and the bindings are intact. It is in fantastic condition given its age, and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original paper dominote book. This is not a reproduction.
