A beautiful 19th-century French crystal faceted glass poignard finial. A French crystal "poignard" finial is a decorative, dagger-shaped crystal piece used to top architectural elements like chandeliers or newel posts. These finials, often made of heavy, cut crystal, were historically used in Baccarat or other French luxury goods to add a touch of elegance. They can be found in antique chandeliers, as stand alone decorative objects, or as functional finials for furniture and staircases.

This finial still has the base clip in place; this can be removed if required. The base clip would allow it to be fixed into a candlestick, etc. This antique crystal gives a fabulous, deep, warm reflection. It measures 7.5" high and 2.5" wide. The base is 1" in diameter.
