It isn't very often we find pieces like this but when we saw it we knew we had to have it. Found in Messina Italy with a MUCH larger collection we previously sold this framed ex voto dates to the 1800's. This was part of a family collection and one of several pieces I held back. This ex voto is framed in a gilt wood frame. It is attached to a blue marbled paper with what I think is metal thread. The back is a pale faded blue green paper showing signs of age but it is not the original backing. I can clearly see ripped red fleur de lis paper at the top near the hook. There is a small metal triangle hanger that is held in place with two nails. This piece will sit or lean and it is in great condition except fot the discoloration marks of the paper on the back.
