It isn't very often we find pieces like this, but when we saw it, we knew we had to have it. Found in Messina, Italy, with a MUCH larger collection, we previously sold this framed ex voto, which dates to the 1700s. This was part of a family collection and one of several pieces I held back. This ex voto dates to the 1700s, but the frame dates to the 1800s. The ex voto rests on blue and cream silk, and the back is antique script paper. There is a small metal triangle hanger secured with two nails. This piece will sit or lean, and it is lovely.
