We purchased this beautiful 1800s French religious icon in Provence, France. This is a beautiful handmade and hammered copper St Francis Regis icon. Saint Jean Regis, known as Saint John Francis Regis and St. Regis (31 January 1597 – 31 December 1640), was a French priest of the Society of Jesus. Recognized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church
John Francis Regis is the patron saint of lacemakers, medical social workers, and illegitimate children. Pope Clement XI beatified him on 18 May 1716. This is a wonderful piece with a lot of detail,
which can be seen in our pictures.  The inside has lovely gold embossed flower trim along the outer edge of the inner frame, and Saint Francois Regis is in the center of the frame. This relic has flat glass on the front, and the back is black metal. The original loop is on the back at the top to hang it. It measures 3" x 3.5".  This piece is in great condition with original glass. These religious wall hangings are highly collectible and difficult to find.
