Beautiful 19th-century French religious icon. This is a lovely framed 1700s hand-tinted engraving of St Rose framed in an 1800s frame. Darling gilt inner frame with marbled outer frame. This piece measures 5" x 4" and includes the original glass. On the back, you can see where this piece has been mended at the top. The hanger is a thick cord. Given its age, this piece is in fantastic condition.
Saint Rose (1586–1617) was the first canonized saint of the Americas, known for her extreme piety, charity, and life of penance.. She lived in seclusion, caring for the poor and sick in Lima while promoting the Rosary.
