Beautiful 19th-century French religious icon of the Blessed Mother in a blue velvet frame with metal embellished corners. This frame measures 4.25" x 5.25" and is in wonderful condition with the original glass. Mary is shown in the center and around the crown of lights above her head are the words Ô Marie, conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous, in English O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. The back of the frame features a stand for tabletop display and a hanging loop for wall mounting. The back is also embossed AF DEPOSE. The frame is AMAZING.
Fun Fact -
On November 27, 1830, Saint Catherine Labouré reported that the Blessed Mother appeared during evening meditations. She displayed herself inside an oval frame, standing upon a globe, wearing many rings of different colors, most of which shone rays of light over the globe. Around the margin of the frame appeared the words Ô Marie, conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous, in English O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
