Beautiful 1800's - 1900's French religious icon. Darling metal frame with the perfect patina. I have not cleaned this piece as I just love the "Faded Gandeur" look. This piece measures 4.5" x 6.5" and is FABULOUS condition. It is a strange find. I took it apart to see what it was. I think the frame is from the 1800's. The front is not glass. It is a cracked around the edge clear celluloid type piece. The "MAGNIFICAT!" prayer card inside (which you can't see) is what I think is a mass card for someone named Yvonne GRISEL that passed on 6 Juin 1938. The back piece is from a 1914 document because I can clearly see the date. This one is all over the board but people learned to "Make-Do" with what they had. Either way it is a lovely find. Some of the original metal prongs are still in place. I inadvertanly broke one taking it apart. Something I "DO NOT" advise doing. The piece hangs with the hole at the top and is overall just a darling piece of history.
