Beautiful 1800s French gilt wood fragment shelf. This is a gently timeworn piece that was part of a larger work of art. You can see on the bottom where it must have attached to something. It is a delicate gilt-wood, hand-carved pediment. Purchased in Provence, this piece is perfect as a home accent or a unique addition to a curated collection. This piece can also be used to create an objet d'art. The back of the shelf measures 5.5", and the front measures 3.25". The depth of the shelf is 4". It is a lovely display piece that can be hung or leaned. Antique pieces like these are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Please note that there is wear consistent with age as it is over 150 years. The only new piece is the hanger.
