The book is an early 19th-century French natural history text featuring contributions and continuations by the prominent naturalist Bernard Germain de Lacépède. Originally compiled by Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon (1707–1788), a monumental figure of the Enlightenment who spent decades creating his groundbreaking Histoire Naturelle. Each book measures approximately 8.5" x 5.5" x 3" and has 550- 800 pages. These books are BEAUTIFUL. They are in great condition given their age, and they are getting harder and harder to find in this larger, chunky size. These are originals from France. These are not reproductions. Keep each one as it is if you are a collector, or take it apart for decoupage, altered art, mixed media, and so much more. I have also used these books for wallpaper. One book can be used for so much.
