Beautiful antique 1800s French Sacred Heart crown of thorns. This antique relic piece has been framed inside an antique French frame. The frame is oval with an inner ormolu frame featuring a bow. The back of the frame is velvet with a working stand, and the original triangle hanger is secured with two small nails.
These original relics feature zigzag cutting along the edges, made with pinking shears, and were placed on red felt that was cut the same way along the outer edges. I can't see that this piece ever had a red felt backing, but it does have zigzag (pinked) edges. This piece measures 3.5" x 3.25" and is in wonderful condition.
