1800's Georgian/Victorian "FORGET ME NOT" motto intaglio letter seal with bone handle. This is a rare beauty. A beautiful seal with a lovely motto. This antique Georgian/Victorian small desk seal from the 1800s would make a great addition to any collection. This is DOUBE-ENDED seal. One side has the motto and the other is a Gothic calligraphic initial on brass. I just can't read the initial. There is a Rocco style handle with a shell design terminating in a speckled bloodstone intaglio with a flower and the  "FORGET ME NOT" around it. The connecting middle handle is a cream alpaca bone terminating at the brass  calligraphy initial I can't read. The seal features a "FORGET ME NOT" motto and flower.  The intricate handle design, silver and alpaca bone give it a vintage and elegant look making it perfect for any occasion. The motto seal is about .35" x .50". The brass initial seal is oval and mesures about the same. The entire piece stands 2" tall.  Crazy thing about this seal is that I am not even sure they initially went together? I look at this piece and wonder if someone didn't actually make it ffor themselves. Either way it is a lovely piece of histoy.
