This is a canivet card relic. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #24262a; font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"\u003eA \"canivet\" card is an art form associated with small holy pictures, probably originating in France\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003e in the 13th century or thereabouts.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e  In this craft, the holy pictures are created in a form of needlework using chromo, textiles, and a variety\u003c\/span\u003e of other materials. The French and Italians are famous for this type of art.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #24262a; font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWorks of art such as this were left almost exclusively in the hands of monks and nuns in medieval monasteries and convents.
