Wonderful antique French boudoir trinket box dating to the late 1800s. This boudoir box is made from heavy cardboard and covered with a lovely antique textile. On the lid, there is a softly hand colored vignette below the original glass. The lid is edged with silk brocade along the outer rim, and the inner rim is old-gold wire-weave passementerie braid. The box has a beautiful antique patina and colors. The fabric is a woven pattern. The interior of the box is lined with cream cotton damask. This antique French fabric box is perfect for holding a variety of items. The box is sturdy, but the lid's glass is cracked. The exterior of the box has imperfections or a patina due to its age, which is expected as it is 125 - 150 years old, but other than fading, it is in mint condition. The boudoir box measures approximately 3" in diameter and 2" tall. The bottom is papered in a mauve color.
